Pants On The Ground

Thinking about church made me recall a funny story my family loves to share.

When I was about 4, before my parents divorced, we attended a Church Of God church. My Aunt Linda helped to dress me for church that Sunday morning, which happened to be the day of our children's program.

So off to church we went and then came time for the program. All of us yunguns filed up to the front of the church, and as my parents retell the story, sometime during the program my panties started "easing" down my legs. Mom and dad were mortified and were elbowing each other whispering for the other to go get me. (Apparently Aunt Linda had put Christy's panties on me...Christy was 8.)

I truly had my "Pants On The Ground"!!!

Our Church Home

April 17th will be here before we know it and I can hardly wait!!! April 17, 2011 at 8:30 am will be our 1st service on Lakeland Drive!!!! No more empty parking lot or being asked when we're gonna build...which was definitely a valid question.

My mom took us to Word of Life off and on from the time I was about 7 until I became a teen. We were by no means consistent members but one thing stood out to me that I wanted for my future family: a happy marriage.
There were many couples that I knew at that early age were happy because they were serving God. I soooo wanted that for my future family and I never forgot the examples I saw at WOL.

In my junior year of high school I began praying for some "on fire" Christian friends who wanted to serve God the way my heart desired. (some friends to add to my best buddies in Magee that is :) ) So one night while visiting my mom in Jxn I went to WOL alone on a Sunday night. The service went long so I eased out early and a young lady in her 20's followed behind me and handed me a note and said I caught her attention when I came in. We exchanged names and I quickly walked to my car, eager to read her note. It read in the exact words that I had prayed to my Heavenly Father, "If you're looking for some "on fire" Christian friends then give me a call". I cried all the way home. Not only did He answer my prayer, but He lead her to word the letter just as I had prayed so I'd know it was Him answering my prayer.

So what do you know, Jay and Reagan were a part of this group of friends!!!

Once college picking time rolled around I chose HCC in Raymond for 1 reason only. I knew i wanted to become a dedicated member of WOL so I'd be surrounded by people following after God and I wanted to stay on the right track. So long story short, once I turned 18 and it was legal for Jay and I to date then the rest is history. (he's 4 yrs older than me)

That was 1998 when I joined WOL's membership and I now have that happy, stable home that I saw in those families so many years ago.

So on Sunday, April 17th 2011, I'm gonna be one happy lady to attend the first service at WOL's Lakeland Drive location that's been over 10 yrs in the making due to our precious Senior Pastor, Ronnie Sims, going to meet Jesus early.

Thank you Father for your faithfulness and for the Sims' family dedicating their lives to serving you and leading others to a closer relationship with you.

Enjoy everyday with your loved ones

This will be short and sweet due to 3 little ones running around. ;) I like so many others am so heartbroken for Jene Barranco and those precious kids. I'm following her blog at jenebarranco.blogspot.com and while it breaks my heart daily, it's a reminder to keep praying for her and to be the BEST wife, mom, daughter, friend that I can be. I so love dearly and appreciate all of my family and friends!!! I truly married my best friend who is there for me and cares for me daily. He makes me laugh, smile, feel so appreciated and yes often irritates the stew out of me...ha. None of us can afford to let little irritations keep us uptight and frustrated daily and miss out on ALL the good in our lives. If ur looking for faults then rest assure, you'll find then. But if u look for the best, you'll find that too!!!

I write this as I'm cleaning the same mess that reappears daily in my home: toys everywhere, laundry left behind the bathroom door etc. But having this mess means my family is alive and well!!!!

BUT, with some training I do hope to correct some of these behaviors...mostly mine...ha

Tell ur family you love them today ;)

Homework Time at the Horne's

Jenna and her "homework" cards

Jenna, our 2 yr old, has decided lately that she desires to be included in homework time.  So, being the great mom that I am, I found her some "homework" cards.

So Brelyn, our 7 yr old, is sitting to Jenna's right trying to concentrate and Jenna decides to taste her cards as shown in this picture.  It was hilarious...she was being quite the clown.  The cards worked for a moment then Jenna's attention quickly turned to wanting to wrestle with her sissy.

Once homework was over and I had cards scattered ALL OVER the dining room, I wondered WHY IN THE WORLD did I give her a pack of 100 cards and not just maybe like 10!!!!!
